Summary
Home-based specialist who mans the Loot Sorting Station. Doesn’t raid. Cunning drives the quality of appraisal hints on ambiguous valuables during intake — the first stage of the two-part gamble in Loot Intake.
Role
Stays at base. When raid loot arrives, the Sorter inspects ambiguous valuables and gives the player a Cunning-scaled read on what they might be worth. A great Sorter turns the Loot Sorting Station from a guessing game into informed calls.
Key Stats
- Primary: Cunning — sharpness of the appraisal hint
Baseline Interaction
Per Station Operation Model, the Loot Sorting Station has Cunning 1 at baseline (player by paw). A Sorter adds their full Cunning on top. At Cunning 40, the station operates at effective Cunning 41.
Unlock
Post-MVP — milestone-gated, arrives alongside the full appraisal system.
Flavor
The thoughtful one with the jeweler’s loupe. Always sniffing everything. Had a long, unexplained opinion about a napkin holder once.

Open Questions
- How does the player hire a Sorter — raid-return recruit like others, or dedicated recruit mission?
- Does a Sorter’s Cunning also affect loot pile throughput (i.e., how fast raid piles get cleared)?
